Our December menu is now available here and will be served from Friday 4 December in our COVID safe pub restaurant.

  • Two rump steaks and a bottle of house wine for £30, or
  • One rump steak and a house drink (pint or a glass of wine) for £15.

Take away food and drink is also available – see the menu for details.

This Thursday’s fish and chip night is now sold out, so to avoid disappointment book now for burger night on Thursday 10th!

New Opening Hours

As we’re a community owned pub we want to continue to serve our community, so will be reopening next week and will aim to make the best of the new tier 2 restrictions. Opening hours have changed but we’ll review these regularly. Fingers crossed that tier 1 isn’t far away…

Thursday 5.30 – 10.00

Friday 5.30 – 10.00

Saturday 12.00 – 3.00 and 5.30 – 10.00

Sunday 12.00 – 5.00

Thursdays will be ‘meal deal’ nights – a substantial and excellent meal with a house drink for just £10. Fish and chips next week, burger night on the 10th and pie night on the 17th. Fridays and Saturdays will have a full menu (watch this space), and Sunday is of course a classic roast.

We’re also still taking bookings for Christmas Day lunch, New Year’s Eve and a big breakfast on New Year’s Day. As we’re now in tier 2 you will need to be eating, and each table has to be one household/bubble.

Phone 01379 779822 to book now. Thanks for all your support, and let’s hope we all get through this together!

See you after Lockdown…

It is very sad but the Cross Keys, along with all other hospitality venues, is now in lockdown. As in spring we won’t be doing take-aways, but fingers crossed that the lockdown works and we’ll all be able to reopen fully on December 2nd. In the meantime, we’d like to say a big thank you to all our customers. The last few months have been far busier than we expected, and we’ve been delighted not just to see old friends but to make new friends too. We can’t wait to see you back.

Pub Opening Times this week

We will be open for drinks 4-10pm on Tuesday and 12-10pm on Wednesday. Fish and Chip night is still happening on Wednesday evening, but is fully booked. If you’d like some take-away beer we have 2 pint bottles and reusable 4 pint flagons. No extra charge for the containers provided they’re full of beer!

Wonderful Wednesdays

Wednesday nights have been a fantastic success – an excellent meal and a drink (pint of Victoria or Carlsberg, a house wine or a soft drink) all for a tenner! Next week (28th) is curry night and it’s already fully booked. We’ll be continuing wonderful Wednesdays during November, so here’s the timetable:

✅Nov 4th – fish & chips

✅Nov 11th – burger & chips

✅Nov 18th – pie & mash

✅Nov 25th – curry.

Book now to avoid disappointment!

Welcome Graeme Woracker – new Chef at The Cross Keys

We would like to extend a warm Cross Keys welcome to our new chef Graeme Woracker.
Graeme is very experienced, was Head Chef at the Crown in Hartest for a number of years and has also worked at high-end venues including Bedford Lodge in Newmarket and Parker’s Tavern in Cambridge.
We’re really looking forward to working our way through his menu!
Take a look at the restaurant menu, together with the options available for take-away and book a table inside or outside soon.
Enjoy!

COVID-19 Update – 24/9/20

New rules from today, although actually not much has changed for us. Table service only, and don’t forget to bring a face covering to wear until you’re sat down at your table – you can take it off when eating and drinking😀.
And if you’ve downloaded the new NHS app you’ll be able to check in by scanning the Cross Keys QR code.
